There is an opening on the Pajaro Valley Health Care District board due to a Board Member resignation effective March 19, 2024. This open position is for the remainder of the 2024 term and will be filled by appointment of the Board. The selected candidate will serve on the board for the remainder of the 2024 term which will end upon the certification of the November 2024 Board Member election results for the 2025-2029 term.

Please note: This application is a public document and will be disclosed upon request. In addition, copies of applications of those selected for appointment will be included in the Board’s printed agenda packet.
Upon receipt, your application will be reviewed by the Clerk of the Board for completeness. After April 14th, your application will be placed on the Pajaro Valley Health Care District Regular Board Meeting Agenda for review and voting on April 24, 2024, at 5:15pm. Nomination Timeline:
The deadline for submissions will be 11:59 PM PDT, April 14, 2024. The Pajaro Valley Health Care District will vote to appoint the new Director on April 24, 2024, to serve the remainder of the 2024 term which will end upon the certification of the November 2024 Board Member election results for the 2025-2029 term.
Requirements to File:
In order to serve on the Pajaro Valley Health Care District Board, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a registered voter in Santa Cruz or Monterey County
- Have a permanent residence within the Pajaro Valley Health Care District boundaries. See map here:
If appointed, you must execute a “statement of economic interests” in a manner consistent with the Political Reform Act and the Hospital Authority’s conflict of interest code.
Desired qualities include, but are not limited to:
- Healthcare experience
- Business Management experience
- Community relations experience
- Public Service experience
- Appreciation for the Watsonville Community Hospital
